What is the design process at The Logic of Eight?
Stage 1
If you choose to commission The Logic of Eight to work on your design needs, the first step we take is to send you out a design questionnaire. The answers to this questionnaire allows our designers to gain a better understanding of what you require.
Stage 2
We send you out a standard contract outlining the design services you require, timescale etc (dont worry, its a simple contract in order to protect both parties interests). We also require a deposit for any design work where costs exceed £50. This can be done through Cheque/BACS/paypal.
Stage 3
Our designers then get to work and within a specified timeframe, will supply you with the initial concept designs by pdf file format through email. This process allows us to ascertain whether we are on the right path in regards to your design needs. We would require your feedback on the initial concept designs.
Stage 4
Generally, the client will request 'x' number of changes to one particular design while possibly incorporating one particular feature of another design. These changes are then made by our designers. Dependent on the terms of the original brief time scale, this process will continue until you are happy with the final design solution.
Stage 5
Once the final design solution has been approved, we shall send you out the final invoice via email (we only email invoices to reduce our carbon footprint). Once payment has been accepted, we release the finished design in the formats and size specification requested from the original brief (any additional sizes/formats can be added at no extra cost).

NB. Any changes out with the agreed initial quote shall be charged at £35.00 per hour.

Do I need to supply anything?
It depends on what type of design work you are requiring. If you are wanting a promotional flyer for your company and wish an image of your head office, then we would aks that you supply a copy of the image. Likewise for logos, illustrations and text. If you supply us with material, it is your responsibility to obtain all necessary copyrights for its use, and we assume that you possess these. In such cases, the copyright belongs to you. By agreeing to our terms and conditions, you agree to indemnify The Logic of Eight from any claim which arises regarding the use of material with which you supply us. If you require photos of your products taken for any of the graphic work, we offer a photography service. To find out more, contact us.
If you have any questions that are not included above, we would be delighted to help. Simply contact us by phone or email by clicking here.

How long will the design process take?
Our initial quotes will always provide an as accurate project time as possible. However this is dependent on when we receive design questionnaires, initial concept review comments and payments from yourself. If you require your design ASAP then this can be arranged. Please contact us for more details.

Who owns the copyright to the design?
On receipt of full payment, we release the artwork to you along with the exclusive copyright of the final design. As part of our terms and conditions, we retain the right to use your design for our own promotional needs (ie. portfolio). All designs sent prior to final payment are protected by watermark to prevent use until final payment has been confirmed.

What if I loose my copy of the design work through fire or at a later date, I require small changes made (ie. contact details, colour etc)?
At The Logic of Eight, we hold a copy of the final design work for 12 months. In that time, any 'minor' changes ie text changes such as contact details are done on a £5 charge (£7.50 if you require the artwork sent by post). If your copy of the design work is lost, stolen or damaged, we can send out a new copy (£5 charge by email, £7.50 by post). For any changes required after 12 months, please contact us.

Do you provide a printing service?
At The Logic of Eight we can print your final design solutions for you. We provide you with quotations for the 'graphic design work' and the 'graphic design and printing work' seperately.
